Kinder Blondies

Updated: Oct 3, 2023

I'm not sure what it is about Kinder chocolate, but everyone I've mentioned it to recently has told me how much they like it! I always thought Kinder was just the little chocolate eggs that hold a little toy inside, but it turns out there is so much more to this Italian brand! Checking them out, there are over 22 different products in their range. After some investigation in Lidl and Tesco, it seemed that Kinder bueno was the most popular item and with regular offers on these chocolate bars, I thought it would make a perfect blondie recipe. (I have also just made Kinder Brownies too, so that post will follow at a later date....).

I found a recipe online, but then I adjusted some of the ingredients slightly as I wanted them to be lighter and different than the brownie version. This blondie does not actually have any white chocolate in it, so I swapped the Kinder bueno bars to white ones and I changed the Nutella swirl on the top to white chocolate hazelnut spread which you can buy here. These are the Kinder chocolate bars. It is worth checking out a few different supermarkets as they do have some good offers on when buying the Kinder chocolate. Don't forget to hide the Kinder bars as soon as you get home, otherwise you will find your husband/kids riffling through the drawers to snack on them!!!

This recipe uses 2 different types of sugars which does add depth of flavour to the bake. You can easily just use all caster or all light brown sugar if you prefer. If you don't have any cornflour, just replace it with plain flour.

Doesn't it look all pretty ready to go into the oven!!!

I baked my blondies in the middle shelf of a fan oven for 30 minutes. I do think they were cooked at 25 minutes, but I chickened out and left them in the oven. I would recommend checking them at 25 minutes and if they have a slight wobble in the tin, take them out and let them cool in the tin on a wire rack. You can then put them in the fridge for an hour to set. If you cook too long, the blondies will be quite 'cake like' in consistency.

Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 200 g Unsalted Butter (melted)

  • 125 g White Granulated Sugar

  • 125 g Light Brown Sugar

  • 3 medium Eggs

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 275 g Plain Flour

  • 1 tbsp Cornflour

  • 150-200 g Kinder Bueno white (chopped)

  • 150-200 g Kinder Chocolate (chopped)

  • 125 g White chocolate hazelnut spread (melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C Fan and line a 9x9" square tin with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, put the melted butter and sugars and beat until smooth (around 2 mins).

  • Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat again until smooth.

  • Add in the flour and cornflour and beat until thick (not long).

  • Add in most of the kinder chocolate & kinder bueno, and fold through.

  • Pour the mixture into the tin and spread. Dollop on the melted hazelnut spread and lightly swirl through the blondie mixture (you can use a toothpick or spoon).

  • Add on the rest of the kinder chocolate/bueno pieces.

  • Bake the Blondies in the oven for 25-30 minutes.

  • Leave to cool in the tin on a wire rack.
